MAC Customizable Palette

If you can't beat them, join them! I think this is what MAC is doing. Just as INGLOT has their Freedom System now you can also do the same with MAC colours. MAC is giving their customer the freedom to make their own palette online.

You can choose to build your own 4 pan eye palette, 15 pan eye palette and 6 pan blush palette.

Just as simple as drag and drop the colour of your choice to your desired palette. Not sure if this offer will be available in-store in Malaysia since the Eye shadow/Pro palette refill pan isn't available here but if it is, it will be awesome since it will save us from the hassle of depotting the shadows. Other than that, building our own MAC palette isn't really a new thing since its already been done ages ago. Meh.. =/

Inglot @ Sunway Pyramid, OPENING SOON!

Inglot is opening their store soon at Sunway Pyramid! Anyone else knows about this? It came as a shock for me (OoO) Never imagine that they will be coming here this soon. I've just found out today while randomly browsing the internet (thanks to Nicole's Mirror). First SEPHORA now Inglot. This is so exciting! Finally all the good stuff is accessible in Malaysia (^o^)

If you never heard of Inglot. It is a cosmetic company base in Poland. They have been climbing up the popularity ladder since their makeup products is showcase at trade shows such as IMATS and are raved by YouTube beauty community. Their eyehadows are said to be comparable to MAC if not better. They are also popular for their Freedom System where you can build your own palette for face, eye, eye brow and lips products.

Beauty Finds: MAC vs Loew Cornell

I've been in searched for the Loew Cornell brushes for quite sometime now and the search has ended since I finally found them with the help of some forum friends, you know who you are ^_^ The 411 on these brushes for those who don't already know. Loew Cornell brushes are painting brush. Yes, you wont find them in any of your beauty store or counter since they are originally made for painting. They are one of the top brand as far as painting brushes are concern, very high end. So, you don't have to worry about the quality.

What so great about these brushes for all the makeup addict out there is that some of their brushes are dead end dupe for MAC brushes. You will be more informed by watching the video below.

Ok now the answer to the questions you been waiting for. Where can I get these brushes here in Malaysia? You all can extend your thanks to Craft Haven™ at One Utama for bringing these brushes here. YAY! They have many selection of Loew Cornell brushes but low in stock for most of the popular brushes. I went there last week in search of the MAC 239 dupe which is the Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8. You can't imagine how happy I am when they still have three of the brushes in stock. So, without thinking I bought two of them ^_^

They are super soft to the touch and does not poke

The Loew Cornell brushes price range from RM12 - RM40 for different type of brushes. The Maxine's Mop 3/8 retail at RM14.90. That's a lot of saving if you compare it to MAC 239 which retails at RM103 @_@ *butimstillgoingtogetitonceicanaffordit*

Below are more info on Craft Haven™, I suggest you gave them a call first to check on the brushes availability. Happy shopping ladies.

Beauty Finds: Palettes, palettes and more palettes

I'm so excited on doing this post just because I found a bargain deal (well not that much bargain but exceptable) on eBay for some palettes which are identical to the Coastal Scent palettes, they are practically twins. The palettes that I'm talking about is the Ultra Shimmer 88 Eye Shadow Palette and the Blush & Contour Palette

Been wanting to get these palettes for the longest time but the price + shipping from Coastal Scent make me think twice every time I think about ordering them. There are a lot of seller on eBay selling these palette but I was quite skeptical on buying them because I'm afraid that the quality will be sucky. This is because I had a bad experience buying the 88 Piece Makeup Palette from other seller before and I was disappointed with the quality, it has a strong smell, it shattered easily, it wont even survived if you take them traveling with you and the packaging was awful. Even though it was cheaper than the Coastal Scent one, its totally not worth it and I end up buying a second one from Coastal Scent. That's why I was so happy when I found these on eBay.

Pweety shimmer!!

They are totally the same with the Coastal Scent one but with nearly half the price. No strong smell and no shattered palette and you don't have to worry about taking them traveling with you. I took the chance and it was worth it. Here's the
link to the palettes if you're thinking of checking them out and don't worry, they even shipped worldwide!!!

Now, if only I can find the
88 Warm Palette ^^'

Review: My Youtube Guru's

I never been a Youtube fan until mid last year when I started watching makeup tutorial. Its not because I hate it, its just because the videos take to long to load on my broadband line and I don't think I have anything to watch from there.

Like I said, I started watching it mid last year around July 2008. I was trying to find the right look for me to do for my pre-graduation night. I kinda have the idea on what I want it to look like, is just that I have no idea on how to do it. So, I did some research on google and forums just to find like picture and stuff. On one of the forums I went to, they mention about RiceBunny a.k.a MichellePhan channel on Youtube. So, her channel was the first one I watched and I started to search for other videos and OMG I have no idea there was a lot of them. I found faffinatex3 a.k.a Aubrey and I thought her makeup skill was pretty and easy to follow and since then I have subscribe to a lot of gurus. They really helped me whether I'm looking for a product review or to learn new makeup skills.

I know maybe some people would say that, if you want to learn how to put on makeup why watched it on Youtube? Are those gurus qualified? Why not take classes?

Well I am going to take classes in the future and the question whether these gurus are qualified or not is not a problem to me. There are those who I followed are professional makeup artist but there are also some who only do freelance job and some who are just your average everyday girl who are willing to share their experience and views. To me the more info and views I can get, the better.

But I do have some tips that people should remember when following a guru.
  1. Don't just follow one guru religiously. Get as many points of view you can get.
  2. Don't go buying everything the gurus recommend. What suitable for her doesn't mean it will be suitable for you to.
  3. Try to look for gurus who has the closes features to you. What looks good on her doesn't mean it will work on you.
  4. Know yourself first. For example your skin type, your eye shape, your skin tone etc.

Bellow are some of the gurus I followed (in random order):
